The Budget and Finance Committee will consider the Euro Introduction Act on second reading, Nova TV reports. It provides for stricter control by the government and regulators in the fight against speculation before and after the change of our official currency. The amendments give the Consumer Protection Commission and the National Revenue Agency the authority to assess whether the price increase is justified or not, and in case of violation, serious fines are foreseen for traders.

The changes also provide for the unification of the display of prices in leva and euro from August 8, so the bill is expected to be voted on second reading before the summer vacation of the deputies.
