Conflicts of interest must be eliminated for people in power. The CPC is institutionally controlled. It has retained some of the methods that are not the most democratic. This was stated by Dr. Alexander Simidchiev from the PP-DB to "Denyat ON AIR".
"We have always been for a sustainable, institutional and fair solution. Cases can remain on hold for a long time. The prosecutor's office in Bulgaria is becoming larger in terms of the number of people with significantly high salaries, and the cases are becoming fewer and fewer", Dr. Simidchiev told Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to him, the functions for establishing and regulating interests, as well as for the property register, must exist and there must be obstacles to corruption deals at the highest levels of power.
"The moment a given commission is taken over, it begins to be used for political purposes", he also commented.
Problems in the hospital system
"Those who make large overspending in the hospital system are more or less the same subjects. Next year, based on historical data, the hospital budget will increase once again. We don't need that many hospitalizations,", the MP noted.
When asked how he views the actions of the Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirilov, who dismissed the Deputy Director of "Medical Supervision" Dr. Dimitar Iliev for ethical violations, Dr. Simidchiev replied that Dr. Iliev's statements were quite reckless, and in such high positions it is important for people to have a certain type of behavior related to moral and ethical boundaries that should not be crossed.
"Bulgaria continues to be one of the last places in terms of the number of transplants," noted Dr. Simidchiev.
