A shocking incident. Shteryu Siderov from Petrich fought the fire element for 11 hours as a volunteer to save a human life. The next day, his employer not only held him accountable, but hit him for his absence from work. Now Shteryu is unemployed.

All this would not have happened if the fake and incompetent deputies had passed the law on volunteering, which I have also submitted several times and GERB always rejected, and now it is lying somewhere in their drawers.
It was adopted on first reading in February and has not moved for a second reading for half a year. It stipulates that volunteer work is considered paid leave.
Bulgaria is burning. Volunteers are the most valuable helpers. These people have abandoned their homes and families to help others in need.
They are not waiting for money, benefits and positions. They even risk their own lives.
The least the government and the National Assembly owe them is a law so that they are not beaten and fired by unfair employers.
All week, Radev and Borisov have been measuring their helicopters. And the people? The people? They are the most important! They are exposed to the arbitrariness of fire.
I have no words for the deputies - with what conscience did they vote for a vacation and go to the beaches? And it was so easy to simply adopt the law on volunteering and give basic respect to people who really deserve it. And whose efforts are reported by world agencies.
