"In my old age, I understood what my role was in my life. To establish a monastery school in the village of Asen. There is no one here who speaks Bulgarian. In the entire region, everyone is now my friend, of course. Lyudmila Zhivkova spoke to me. And I have a mission - educational and cultural. Thank you for everything". This is the last SMS that Todor Slavkov wrote to his longtime family friend Hristo Krusharski, in whose villa in the Kazanlak village he ended his life with a shot to the head on July 21.
He sent the message to the businessman ten days earlier - on July 11, Krusharski revealed in an interview with "24 Chasa".
"Later, I analyzed it, showed it to the investigation, and also gave it to his daughter to read. A person who has dealt with many such cases told me: "If you had shown it to me, I would have told you what would happen". But I didn't pay attention to what was written at the time. I thought he had already started to think soberly, to realize his life," said the businessman, who was very close to Ivan Slavkov-Bateto, his mother Katya and had promised them to take care of the family.
Krusharski claims that Little Toshko, as they called him, made his fatal decision with a clear conscience. The autopsy also showed that there were no traces of alcohol or drugs in his blood. When he went to see him a week before the accident, they talked and laughed. "He was the same guy I've known for 20 years," the businessman describes their last meeting. "I didn't touch him!" Slavkov told him. "In this regard, he had his father's will and he made the fatal decision in a completely clear and sober mind", said Hristo Krusharski.
The heir to the Zhivkovi clan ended his life after spending two weeks in solitude in a villa in the Kazanlak village of Asen. He was discovered by the woman who takes care of the house after his relatives called her to say they could not contact him.
A day later, the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office announced the conclusion of the forensic medical examination into the death of Todor Slavkov. It and the other evidence collected established that "it was a self-shot and there is no evidence of violent death". It is also confirmed that the 54-year-old man took his own life with his legal revolver, 22 caliber.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated at the District Prosecutor's Office to clarify the causes of his death.
Two days later - on July 24, relatives and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes to Todor Slavkov. The service took place in the ritual hall of the "Mira" funeral complex next to the Central Sofia Cemetery. Among those who went to pay their last respects to Malak Toshko were the mother of Todor Slavkov's daughter - Silvia Panteva, his daughter Katerina, his sister Zheni Zhivkova, the president of "Lokomotiv" Plovdiv Hristo Krusharski, Zornitsa Lindareva, Sasho Balkanski, Ralitsa and Kalin Balevi, Evgeni Minchev, Uti Bachvarov, football legends, including Emil Velev-Kokala and Chavdar Tsvetkov, etc.
