The maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Konstantin Dimov from the Sofia University Hospital "St. Anna" is the hero of this Sunday in the midst of summer. He saved the lives of two sisters - aged 16 and 18, who were pulled half-dead from the sea in Pomorie.
The drama unfolded this afternoon on the Central Beach, witnessed by hundreds of vacationers from all over the country, writes "Flagman".
With a relatively calm sea and a yellow flag, the younger sister went inland to swim, the older one decided to follow her. The two girls were not far behind the buoy, no one expected that both of them could not swim well.
The rescuers managed to drag them unconscious to land, but were powerless to bring them back to life with artificial respiration. In the chaos, however, it turned out that the famous Sofia doctor had been spotted nearby during the day.
Fortunately, Dr. Dimov heard the siren of the approaching patrol car at that time and ran to the place, assuming that he could be of use with help.
The ambulance was delayed.
