The parties are preparing early for the presidential elections because they imply a strategic maneuver. This was explained to the Bulgarian National Radio by sociologist Andrey Raichev.

The left gathered over the weekend at its traditional gathering in Buzludzha and spoke about a common left-wing candidacy in the presidential elections. The name of the current vice president Iliyana Yotova was mentioned.

"It is not that her chances of becoming president are very high, but it will be effective if they manage to eliminate something they inherited from Cornelia Ninova - the hostile relations with the presidency," Raichev pointed out in the program "Predi visi".

The new leadership of the BSP must decide strategically what it will do, the sociologist also noted.

"This is happening against the backdrop of unpleasant trends for them. The first is the collapse of the left in Europe, especially in Eastern Europe".

There was also a collapse in Bulgaria, when the Reds were under the leadership of Cornelia Ninova, he reminded.

"From the traditional million that these people raised, it became a quarter of a million".

The left in the world has a gigantic problem, Raichev summarized.

"It broke away from being a party of labor. It became a party of minorities. It began to protect marginal, not working people. This is related to the change in the place of work - the working class has disappeared.

The Bulgarian left has not disappeared, he is categorical, however.

"The solution is to start working with both poles, which are called Boyko Borisov and Rumen Radev".
