More than 1,500 decares of forests burned in July alone in Central Northern Bulgaria, according to a report by the North-Central Enterprise, which manages state-owned forest territories in the five regions - Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra and Razgrad.

Forest fires in the past month in Central Northern Bulgaria are 16, with 14 of them caused by human activity - a discarded cigarette, a lit landfill or stubble, and others.

In extinguishing the flames Along with firefighters, military personnel and volunteers, 124 forest officials with vehicles, heavy equipment and two helicopters participated, according to the state farm in Gabrovo.
