A fire is burning in Balchik in the area behind the sign for the city, Chief Inspector Steliyan Stoychev, Head of the Regional Service "Fire Safety and Population Protection" in Balchik, told BTA.
He explained that a signal about the fire was filed around noon today. The fire is in a hard-to-reach place and is growing rapidly.
There are no residential buildings and complexes in the area of the fire. Fire departments from Balchik and Dobrich, employees of the State Hunting Estate - Balchik, police teams are working on the scene, and water carriers from agricultural cooperatives in the region have also been provided. Four fire engines are on the scene.
Chief Inspector Stoychev said that the area covered is about 10 acres, most of which is pine forest.
In addition to being in a difficult-to-reach place, due to strong winds the fire is also changing direction, which creates problems, as firefighters constantly have to change their positions.
