A state of emergency has been declared due to a fire in three villages in the Sredets Municipality. Due to the large fire in the land of the village of Slivovo, which subsequently spread to the lands of the villages of Sinyo Kamene and Granitec, the mayor of the Sredets Municipality has declared a state of emergency. The local government calls on citizens to follow the instructions of the competent authorities, BNT reported.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced that due to the spread of the fire in the area of the village of Slivovo, it was necessary to send two crews with AS-532 AL Cougar helicopters from the 24th Air Base in Krumovo.
The mission is being carried out in compliance with all safety measures and in close coordination with the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Population Protection.
The Bulgarian Air Force remains ready to continue fighting the fire from the air, provides logistical and fuel support to foreign crews, participates in coordinating joint activities and supports the efforts of ground teams, volunteers and institutions in the fight against natural disasters.
