Flames within the perimeter of the large fire in Pirin have flared up again, Nova TV reports.

So far, there has been no significant development on the front, but there are concerns about the slow spread of the element towards the "Pirin" National Park.

Due to high temperatures and wind, three internal fires flared up over the village of Ilindentsi this afternoon, where the fire is under control but not extinguished, BNT reports. In one of the outbreaks, the fire has moved towards a river and is expected to extinguish itself.

There are fire trucks, firefighters, and SWDP employees on duty on the ground and entering to extinguish where possible and safe.

Smoke from the blazing fires can be seen from the towns of Kresna, Blagoevgrad, and Sandanski.

There is no danger to settlements. Work and observations on the ground continue.

In recent days, firefighters and forest officials have been trying to extinguish dozens of smoldering fires in peat areas, but their efforts have not yielded the desired result.
