At around 11:10 p.m. on August 8, a report of a disturbance of the night silence in the village of Vrachesh was received in the Botevgrad Regional Police Department. Gendarmerie officers were dispatched to the scene, who heard two shots from the house.
During the immediate inspection of the address, they found that a father had shot his son with an illegal hunting rifle during a scuffle. The victim was transported to a metropolitan hospital, where he later died.
The perpetrator was detained for up to 24 hours. An operational group on duty from the regional directorate inspected the scene. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
Following a report of the collected materials at the district prosecutor's office, the 61-year-old man was brought in as a defendant for a crime under Art. 116, para. 1, item 3, item 2, item 6, item 1 of the Criminal Code. He was ordered to be detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
