Georgi Georgiev: 30% more real estate transactions have been registered compared to last year

In the last two months, despite the summer season, the volume of transactions has not decreased, with over 21 thousand deeds registered for the months of June and July alone

The Registry Agency has registered 66,803 real estate transactions for the first six months of 2025, which is 30% more compared to the same period last year. This was stated by the Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev in a post on his Facebook page.

„In the last two months, despite the summer season, the volume of transactions has not decreased, with over 21 thousand deeds registered for the months of June and July alone“, the minister also noted. He added that an increase in transactions is only being reported in Sofia, while in other major cities their usual volume is being maintained.

Georgiev also indicated that the expectations are that by the end of 2025, a record of registered transactions will be set for the last 20 years of the existence of the Registry Agency. He added that today he checked the organization of the work process, aimed at ensuring the activity with optimization of working hours and distribution of tasks to the less busy registry offices in the country.

By the end of the week, the Registry Agency will provide full real-time access to the information system of the Property Register of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, the Minister of Justice noted.

He emphasized that due to the frequent cases of entries of property rights in the cadastral register based on false documents, access is provided to all references, including to the property deeds of the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre. This is another step in our consistent efforts to prevent property fraud, commented Georgiev.

Restricting the issuance of uncertified copies of notarial deeds from the Property Register to persons without a legal interest will be a serious deterrent to property fraud attempts, said Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev at a working meeting to combat property fraud in July.
