“Peevski should stop with the empty slogans, he bears the greatest responsibility for the privatization of Bulgartabac, the plundering of the company, the impoverishment of many people and the damage to the state. His position today is dictated by only one thing – Peevski wants the entire state, he does not want it to be privatized piecemeal in any way.“ This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev, in connection with Delyan Peevski's position regarding the Program for the Exercise of Rights on Properties – state property, and on Properties – property of state-owned public enterprises.
Ivaylo Mirchev emphasized the position of “Democratic Bulgaria“ on the subject published today. “We have always been in favor of a smaller role for the state in business and the economy. However, this must be done in a transparent manner, digitalized, with clear traceability, without the possibility of certain properties remaining for “our people“. We are ready to participate with proposals for the implementation of such a program“, said the MP.
The MP noted that the role of municipalities and other state institutions must be taken into account when assessing the need for public needs of the specified properties. Mirchev added that the goal of the program should not be “simply to take out certain properties so that, for example, the amphitheater in Sofia can pass into specific private hands or an appetizing property in Sozopol can pass into certain people close to the government”.
