One person died and six were injured in the serious accident between a car and a public transport bus in Sofia tonight. The driver, a 21-year-old with an “Audi“, received a license on August 1. In two weeks he has six tickets for violations, safenews.bg recalls.

Three of the passengers in the passenger car were admitted to hospital. The driver of the car has a broken arm.

Hours before the fatal accident in which he killed a passenger in a bus and injured six people, Viktor Iliev was fined by the SDVR, 24 Chasa reported.

The traffic police sanctioned him because he did not carry a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.

Viktor Iliev was tested for alcohol and drugs, his samples were negative. The traffic police wrote him a fine of 50 leva for the lack of the mandatory first aid kit and fire extinguisher. At the same time, the driver had 5 UNPAID TICKETS in the Ministry of Interior system in the police tablets.

The Ministry of Interior may try to justify that they waited until August to take measures.

The question arises whether the police officers selectively choose to harass drivers with one unpaid ticket at the expense of those from minorities. We expect to find out whether the patrol has taken action to pay the old 5 tickets. If they were handed out, why did the road patrol not take action to detain the driver.

Statistics show that Viktor Iliev received a ticket every 3 days.

In two weeks with a license, the driver had 6 tickets. How many tickets per week should a driver have in order for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Traffic Police and Traffic Police to "get moving" and remove potentially dangerous drivers from the road traffic.

Viktor Iliev's file also shows two thefts when he was 16.
