The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has announced a yellow code for significant precipitation, accompanied by thunderstorms, for tomorrow in parts of the country. The warning is in effect for individual areas in 11 regions in our country - Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Sofia - region, Lovech, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Sliven Targovishte and Shumen.
The expected amount of rain per day there will be between 20 and 35 liters per square meter. The air mass over the country will remain unstable and cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop, the NIMH announced.
Short-term precipitation, accompanied by thunderstorms, will be in more places in Southern and Eastern Bulgaria. There will also be conditions for hail. There will be almost no precipitation in most of the Danube Plain.
The wind will again be oriented from the northeast and will be weak to moderate. Maximum temperatures will be between 25 and 30 degrees, in Sofia – around 25 degrees.
In the mountains, cumulus clouds will develop and in many places there will be short-term rain showers, accompanied by thunderstorms. The phenomena will be intense in the massifs in Southwestern Bulgaria and Central Stara Planina. There are also conditions for hail.
A weak to moderate wind will blow from the north-northeast, in the higher parts – from the west-northwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 18 degrees, at 2000 meters – about 12 degrees.
On the Black Sea coast, the cloudiness will be more often significant and in places there will be short-term rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms. A moderate northeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be 26-28 degrees. The sea water temperature is about 26 degrees. The sea waves will be 2-3 points.
At night, over most of the country, the cloudiness will be significant and in places, mainly in Central Bulgaria, there will be rain showers with thunderstorms. A weak wind will blow from the west-northwest, in the eastern regions - from the northeast.
