The first ambulance that arrived in Nessebar after the 8-year-old child fell from a parachute was fully equipped. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Health.

„An immediate inspection of the Executive Agency „Medical Supervision“ and the Center for Emergency Medical Care – Burgas has been ordered in the case to clarify all circumstances“, the Ministry of Health emphasizes.

The first ambulance that was closest to the scene of the incident had a paramedic team. The ambulance was fully equipped to provide emergency medical care. The team began immediate resuscitation measures, which continued until the arrival of a second ambulance with a resuscitation team, the ministry added.

The timeliness and consistency of all actions taken, as well as the coordination between the individual units, will be checked.

A witness to the incident spoke to bTV. According to Tihomir Atanasov, the child had vital signs after the fall. “The first ambulance arrived 20 minutes after the signal“, he added.

“At the time of the first ambulance's arrival, the doctor determined that the case was not for her and she could not do anything because she did not have resuscitation equipment. After 25 or 30 minutes, we called a second ambulance. The second ambulance left from Burgas, it was already fully equipped and everything that was needed, it arrived about an hour and 10 minutes after the beginning of the incident. For an hour and 10 minutes, these people, including the first ambulance, fought tirelessly for their lives, but unfortunately the end was fatal“, added Tihomir Atanasov.

“It is impossible for an ambulance to be so late for such a case. I categorically deny that there are any gaps in the equipment“, says the position of the director of the Burgas Emergency Department, Dr. Asen Kardzhiev.

The investigation continues, and pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
