Emil Dimitrov-Revizoro: GERB owes Pleven the restoration of the water they took from them. They should apologize to Pleven

"There is currently no water anywhere around Pleven. The river has dried up. A water supply system was built from the Gorni Dabnik dam to Pleven at one time. Instead of wasting this water, they had installed a module for purification and chlorination, and Pleven would have had water for two years to come," said the former Minister of Environment and Water

The water regime in Pleven continues. Is there a solution to the water crisis?

"The crisis in Pleven is for the third year in a row and suddenly the politicians have remembered". "Can't we hold an extraordinary meeting?". Neither the meeting nor the commission will provide water to the people of Pleven", commented the former Minister of Environment and Water Emil Dimitrov – Revizoro on the show "Denyat ON AIR".

Where is the problem with the lack of water?

He explained that when "South Stream" was being built, several of the rivers had to be drilled from below with inclined directional drilling in order to plaster the walls and be able to, by removing the drill, push the pipe into which the gas pipeline would then be laid.

"In Pleven, in the Vit River, after Sadovets, the water comes out into the underground layer. They should have known this. When they set out to build the pipe from below, they reach the body of water and they cannot build the system. It stops and they decide to change the project. They poison the water of Pleven, they stop it. The water is lost in the lowest layer. They start to do a trench method. The gas pipeline passed, but all the groundwater disappeared. They destroyed the water source," Dimitrov said.

According to him, new drillings had to be done.

The hope is in the Gorni Dabnik Dam
"There is currently no water anywhere around Pleven. The river has dried up. A water supply line was built from the Gorni Dabnik Dam to Pleven at one time. Instead of wasting this water, if they had installed a purification and chlorination module, Pleven would have had water for two years to come," the former Minister of Environment and Water told Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to Emil Dimitrov, the government hid the information for three years until the water level decreased.

"A water supply line was built from Gorni Dabnik to the same damaged drillings. A purification module and a sedimentation tank can be installed on the existing pipe," he specified.

"It will be like in Pernik. They built a new water supply system, it only worked for 40 days. They built a highway and it turned out to be an absolutely pointless investment and the water came from the dam," Dimitrov added.

According to him, "everything is done for money that needs to be spent".
"They want to introduce a state of emergency so that money can be spent without public procurement. Only the water in Gorni Dabnik can be used. Everything else is a lie. Pleven needs water much more than Tarnovo. The water that is currently available could be enough with all the losses and there would be no regime in Pleven," the former Minister of Environment and Water said.
Dimitrov believes that until purified water is released from the Gorni Dabnik dam, Pleven residents will not have water in the future.

"GERB owes Pleven the restoration of the water that was taken from them, and GERB must apologize to Pleven. Pleven residents are not obligated to suffer because of others," the former Minister of Environment and Water urged.
