The 16-year-old boy injured in “Sunny Beach” was allowed on the water attraction without an escort. The young man fell from an inflatable “banana” mattress, towed by a jet ski. He was taken to the emergency room of the University Hospital - Burgas in a conscious state. The injured person is out of danger to his life.
On the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” on "Nova TV" The owner of the facility emphasized that they do not have the right to ask for personal documents to check the age of tourists.
„For me, this is the safest attraction because it is carried out by absolute professionals. We only use boats. The instruction is oral. According to the regulation, people over 18 years old can use the water facilities independently. Minors must have an escort. In reality, the colleague can be misled about the age by the height of the boys. In principle, if we have any doubt that they are not old enough, we also take our employee with them”, specified Ivan Rochkov, manager of the company that manages all the water facilities in the complex.
„After the fun was over, one of the boys grabbed his head. The colleague asked what happened, but said that he was fine and left. Later, we found out that he had sought medical help at the station because of dizziness. An ambulance and police were called. I immediately sent the base manager and the captain to check what was happening. Yesterday the sea was not rough, I don't know how it hit. The fact is that sometimes people fall off the attraction, they are wearing life jackets and get back on," he added.
According to him, only for using the jets it is necessary to sign a written declaration.
„People who drive these machines independently are responsible for themselves and those around them. Usually tourists pay, receive a receipt, are put on life jackets and our employee arranges them. The boat captain, in turn, gives a new briefing. If he doesn't like how they are arranged - heavier on the outside and lighter on the inside - he rearranges them. Users of the attraction have the right to give a thumbs up, which means „go faster” or give a signal to slow down”, Rochkov further explained.
He explained that every tourist using the attractions has insurance. The representative of the concessionaire Iliyan Todorov believes that the adrenaline had an effect on the boy and that is why he felt a headache. According to him, the ambulance arrived in 5-6 minutes.
According to information from NOVA, the manager of the water base and the captain of the boat have been detained for up to 24 hours.
