The captain of a capsized yacht near the Northern Beach in Burgas has been rescued. This was reported to BTA by the manager of the northern strip, Simeon Tsvetkov.

Probably due to a technical malfunction, the boat began to fill with water and this caused it to capsize. The captain held on to it and waited for help, Tsvetkov said.

A surfer reported to the rescuers about an incident with a boat in distress at sea nearly 1,500 m from the shore. He informed that the boat had capsized and the captain was in danger.

A team was immediately organized and, together with a jet instructor from the nearby water base, who also has a completed water rescue course, a rescue operation was carried out.

This is a single-seater sailing yacht. The incident occurred about an hour ago, the captain is a Bulgarian citizen and is uninjured, Tsvetkov told BTA.

The rescued man thanked the team that participated in the rescue operation for the quick and successful response.

The boat was also brought to shore with the help of a jet.
