A 58-year-old man from the town of Buhovo was seriously injured in an accident in the sea near the South Beach in the town of Primorsko, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.
According to initial information, the man jumped into the water, but hit his head on the bottom and lost consciousness. Witnesses to the incident immediately provided him with assistance, pulling him ashore and reporting the incident to the emergency services.
The victim was transported to the University Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment “Heart and Brain“ in the city of Burgas, where he was admitted with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury and a fractured cervical vertebra. His medical status is currently unknown.
The case is under the supervision of the competent authorities, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
