Another fire in Southwestern Bulgaria has firefighters on their toes. A little before 4 p.m., a fire was registered in the urbanized territory of the town of Yakoruda, in the area of the mineral baths. The strong wind has carried the fire to the nearby pine forest, BNR reports.
Five fire brigade teams from Yakoruda, Belitsa, Razlog and Bansko, as well as forestry employees, are trying to control the fire, having managed to reduce the peak burning to a low level.
Many volunteers from the municipal formations have also arrived at the scene, said Yakoruda Mayor Mehmed Vaklyov. So far, there is no danger to people and houses near the fire.
At the moment, no evacuation is required, but there is preparedness.
