A specialized team from the 55th Engineer Regiment has scouted, transported and destroyed a corroded 152 mm shell near Pleven. The ammunition was discovered on August 29 during cleaning on a private property in the city, BTA reported.
The team consisting of six servicemen operates under the leadership of Lieutenant Svetoslav Slavchev. The ammunition was destroyed in strict compliance with safety measures 7 kilometers southeast of the city.
The formation carried out the operation on the basis of an order from the commander of the Land Forces, after receiving permission from the Chief of Defense.
