First-person account of the storm that hit during a festival in a Kyustendil village

The mayor of the village of Kopilovtsi, with a story about the unprecedented storm that hit the Kyustendil region on Sunday, pointed to "Nova TV". According to her, the locals describe what they saw as a real apocalypse. The wind knocked down perennial trees on houses and cars, and miraculously no one was seriously injured. There was a festival in the village of Kopilovtsi at the moment when the element hit. Footage captured how the powerful storm swept away tents, tables and people.

„It was quite scary. No one expected that such a thing could happen. At about 6:30 p.m., a strong wind started blowing. There was a cloud, the mountain was hidden by it. I don't remember seeing anything like it. People got scared and started running. The storm lasted about 10 minutes. A woman was hit by an umbrella. She is from a neighboring village. Fortunately, she was not seriously injured. The electricity went out. This morning everything is back to normal and we have cleared the damage,” the mayor of the village, Miroslava Kostadinova, told the air of “Hello, Bulgaria.”
