Brazen brutality. That's how I would describe it in two words. Thus, Dimitar Stoyanov, Secretary of the President of the Republic for Security and Defense, commented on the program "Intervjuto" on BNT the beating of the Ruse police chief.
"It is time for society to show intolerance towards such acts, and for the court to apply the law with full force. I wish my colleague a speedy recovery and return to work", Stoyanov emphasized.
He commented on the statement of the President of the EC Ursula von der Leyen that one third of the weapons for Ukraine were provided by Bulgaria.
"One third of the weapons that have been provided to Ukraine come from Bulgaria. Until the beginning of this year, the weapons that have been provided to Ukraine are worth over 120 billion euros. It is unlikely that Bulgaria had such capabilities to provide weapons for over 40 billion euros. This is perhaps a translation error or misinterpreted words of the President of the European Commission. Bulgaria provides weapons to companies, or more precisely, sells weapons to companies that most likely provide them to Ukraine. The arms business feeds on this."
The presidential advisor criticized a statement by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov.
"Let me dispel some statements that were thrown into the public space yesterday by the Minister of Energy, who allowed himself to mislead Bulgarian society in connection with the contract with "Botas" and the upcoming winter situation in Bulgaria. "Bulgargaz" is not bankrupt because it has a contract with "Botas". "Bulgargaz" will be bankrupt as early as 2022. Then, if Minister Stankov remembers, 800 million were invested by the caretaker government to strengthen the company. The real bankruptcy of "Bulgargaz" comes precisely from "Toplofikatsiya". The amounts owed are over 1 billion and 300 million leva. So this is the reason. The poor management of "Toplofikatsiya" - Sofia. And who managed "Toplofikatsiya" - Sofia until 2023, and now they continue in the same way. The next interpretation, which was absolutely false, that 6 billion from "Botas" allow for a complete modernization of the Bulgarian army. The one omitted is one 0. The Bulgarian army needs 60 billion to be completely modernized. And the third interpretation is for 12 highways - the Black Sea. Yes, there could be more of these highways if GERB does not build them. Because they build them with a spoon that pours asphalt, but with a hole. And the hole, where asphalt flows, flows into the nightstand with the euros and the gold bars."
