Martin Tabakov: We are very far from seeing the beginning of the end of the war

Putin has crossed out all forms of guarantees that were made by the European powers. Most likely, Donald Trump will lose interest in the conflict

We are very far from seeing the beginning of the end of the war. Putin has crossed out all forms of guarantees that were made by the European powers. Most likely, Donald Trump will lose interest in the conflict. This prediction was made in an interview with “Face to Face” by international analyst Martin Tabakov.

According to him, Putin is not just crossing out the idea of guaranteeing Ukraine's security from Europe, but also the US administration's attempts to conduct diplomacy. And this is becoming a major problem for Trump.

“European countries are willing to deploy troops if they receive US support. For this mechanism to be possible, American support is also necessary. We still do not have a clear answer. The indications are that the American president allows some form of US participation, he commented.

According to him, the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron that “26 countries are ready to send a continent to Ukraine or provide certain funds” contains “some ambiguity”.

Regarding Putin's proposal to meet with Zelensky in Moscow, Tabakov said: “I have the feeling that the Russian president has made a list of things that his Ukrainian counterpart would not agree to, and is only proposing those”.
