The Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior must immediately know about such an incident, as happened in Ruse with the beaten police chief. This was stated by former acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev to the Bulgarian National Radio, quoted by novini.bg.
He criticized the fact that the Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Miroslav Rashkov arrived 24 hours later after the incident with the director of the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry-Ruse. There is no way to expect respect and esteem from citizens when the system is controlled by people with a criminal past, Demerdzhiev pointed out and called for video recordings from cameras to be collected. "Which of these young people is capable of delivering such a blow? Who did it?", asked the former Interior Minister.
According to him, it is much more important to have prevention and for every police officer to be prepared, rather than for them to be beaten and end up in such a situation. If the prosecution thinks it is showing character or firmness, then it is not, the former minister continued with his criticism.
He called for someone to come out and explain what is happening at the National Security Agency and why there were employees dismissed from there. The only impression that remains is that a crude attempt is being made to control SANS and use it as a tool like the CPC, Demerdzhiev pointed out.
He accused the acting chairman of SANS, Denyo Denev, of taking away the opportunity for citizens to vote electronically. His very policy is clearing SANS of people who are independent and professional, and appointing those who carry out orders, Demerdzhiev saw. He is also not satisfied with the way the "Security" sector works.
