In the studio of Nova TV, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov commented on important topics such as the beating of the police chief in Ruse, drug dealers in the Roma neighborhood in Botevgrad, "The Impudent".
The medical examination is yet to indicate whether the deceased 30-year-old man in Botevgrad had drugs in his blood, we cannot answer categorically whether it was a case of death by overdose, the minister said.
Mitov explained that a specialized police operation is currently underway in the area. 33 people have been detained, over 600 have been checked.
„We do not know whether there is a distribution of fentanyl in the area - that's what they say, but this must be established”, he explained.
According to him, there are pre-trial proceedings against the so-called Poro and measures taken, which are in the appropriate phase.
„I do not know if he is missing”, Mitov explained.
The Interior Minister responded to the accusations that the police do nothing with words, indicating that time is needed to collect evidence.
„Naglite”
On the topic of the disappearance of three members of the „Naglite” gang he said that the investigation is in an active phase. “We are working on all versions, we have data, but it is not right to share them”, he added.
The beating of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Ruse
Mitov said that defensive versions are emerging regarding the four young men who attacked the director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Ruse, Nikolay Kozhuharov. He suggested that this was the work of the defense of the detainees. In his words, the court's decision to keep them permanently in custody is indicative enough.
”This is not a harmless incident. Kozhuharov has identified himself. Let it be clear that when a police officer identifies himself and enters a situation to stop an anti-social event, everyone must obey,” Mitov said.
In his words, the beating of Kozhuharov is an attack on the state.
Rumen Radev's place in politics
Mitov described President Rumen Radev as a divisive figure. He also said that it was a pity that even during the celebrations on the occasion of the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, Radev allowed himself to speak in a similar way, dividing the nation. And he added that the president has no right to engage in the rhetoric of an opposition leader.
Mitov added that the government does not want to wage an institutional war.
Vote of no confidence
The Minister of Power pointed out that every vote of no confidence could be fatal for the cabinet, since it is a minority government.
„However, we have one task - to set clear and transparent goals. From then on, whoever wants to support us - should do so,” he added.
