Former deputy mayor of Varna Diyan Ivanov revealed that threats were made to his life immediately after he withdrew his testimony against mayor Blagomir Kotsev, explaining that he gave them under pressure from the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Two months after the action that left Kotsev in custody permanently, his deputy again published a post on social networks, in which he explains that after he filed his withdrawal and requested a new interrogation in the presence of a lawyer and a judge, no one from the prosecutor's office contacted him.
The former deputy mayor explains that he is only disclosing this information now because the Sofia City Court is about to rule on the requests for the release of the Varna Mayor, and Deputy Mayor for Finance of Sofia Nikola Barbutov.
