Obviously, the state's financial situation is not good. It has been like this since the pandemic.
This was stated on the show "From the Day" by economist Petar Ganev from the Institute for Market Economics, who commented on the state's finances.
"The budget data is exactly what all analysts were saying - the revenue side is doing better than last year, but VAT revenues are inflated. Inflating current expenses could lead to a loss of power. The example of France from yesterday is the most eloquent. If it comes to a package of measures, the government starts to waver. We should not come to a package of measures. We must attack costs. We must not raise salaries by 50% and we must remove automatic mechanisms," he added.
"Good examples can be taken from every country, but the bad thing is that we look around and only take bad practices and policies. I can give price controls as an example. If we continue with this fiscal framework, we may end up with an increase in VAT. Immediate measures are needed to avoid the increase in months. The best approach is to have a year without any extraordinary increases in costs," Petar Ganev was categorical.
