A large fire is burning in the Karnobat region, BNT reported late last night. According to local residents, the fire started near the dam near the village of Ekzarh Antimovo.
The fire front is about 10 km. The flames have spread to the Karnobat - Sredets road, which is closed to traffic.
So far, there is no information that there is a direct danger to the settlements. The mayor of Karnobat Municipality has declared a partial state of emergency for the villages of Ekzarh Antimovo, Dobrinovo, Smolnik and Zhitosvyat.
"The situation is complicated by the strong wind and there are prerequisites for significant damage to property and the economy," the municipality reported.
