"Toplofikatsiya Sofia" is increasingly sinking into the swamp and dragging "Bulgargaz" there. Last year alone, gas supplies amounted to 500 million leva, and only 150 million were paid. "Bulgargaz"'s total liabilities to the Bulgarian Energy Holding are nearly 2 billion leva. These calculations were made by BEH CEO Valentin Nikolov on “Denyat na Zivu”.
His opinion is that there is no way forward, and the decision must be made by the owner of “Toplofikatsiya” in the person of the Sofia Municipality. According to him, the National Assembly must intervene, investors must be found and options must be sought.
However, the real threat to “Bulgargaz” comes from the contract with “Botas”. Nikolov explained that the negotiation process to change the contract continues. According to him, there is goodwill on the Turkish side and options are being sought for them to get their money and ease our conditions.
Valentin Nikolov emphasized that the increase in BEH's capital by 1.5 billion leva will go only for investments, including PAVEC power plants and the vertical gas corridor. He reassured that the current principle of determining the retail price of electricity will remain in effect for a long time.
For the new units of the “Kozloduy” NPP, Nikolov repeated the deadlines - 2035 for the seventh unit and 2040 for the eighth.
