Boris Bonev: We will do everything possible to prevent GERB from returning on a white horse

Against the background of the expectations and needs of the city, this mandate is very bad. And the accusations should not fall only on the mayor, but on all the parties in the SOS. I blame ourselves, because we made mistakes

From "Save Sofia" we will do everything possible to prevent GERB from returning on a white horse. This is our political cause, although there are quite a few quality people there, said the leader of "Save Sofia" Boris Bonev in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

In the program "Before Everyone" he admitted that the governance of Sofia so far has been a failure:

" Against the background of the expectations and needs of the city, this mandate is very bad. And the accusations should not fall only on the mayor, but on all the parties in the SOS. I blame ourselves, because we made mistakes both in terms of personnel and in the process of working in the SOS, and also with the mayor. But the truth is that GERB, which controls the majority in the SOS, is whatever GERB decides - that is accepted, they have chosen a strategy of destruction. They do not want to support meaningful proposals, to be proactive, to correct the mayor with proposals for reforms".

Bonev is categorical that despite the confrontations in the SOS and the possibility of GERB's return, because of the mistakes made by the current "Save Sofia" he will not allow GERB's return.

Boris Bonev also commented on the data from a sociological survey and pointed out that the problem for all parties is that they have hard cores and ignore 50% of the population:

"And these are people who have dreams, problems, torments and aspirations, they cannot be ignored. But we clearly cannot reach them with the messages that are being sent now, and that is a problem".

According to him, good governance is not measured by the promises you make:

"Good governance is not measured by empty promises, but by the results you give to society. When you have an election program, you have to keep your promises and "Tsar Ivan Shishman" ul. is our election promise and it is logical that we start fulfilling it".

"Save Sofia" wants "Tsar Ivan Shishman" ul. to become a completely pedestrian zone and is collecting signatures for a petition. In two days they have collected over 2,000 signatures, and today they are continuing at the KvARTal festival. He called on Sofia residents to support the petition because a study shows that there are several times more pedestrians than cars on the street, and 75% of the infrastructure is for pedestrians.
