„I come from the protest that was in front of the Courthouse in defense of Blagomir Kotsev. The court decision shows once again the complete moral and professional bankruptcy of some of the judges, and the behavior of the prosecutors was shameful. In the hall – a grumble, weak and even missing argumentation, without answers to elementary questions such as why the main witness Diyan Ivanov was not questioned for two months.“
This was stated to BNT by the mayor of Blagoevgrad Metodi Baykushev, after the court today remanded in custody the mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev, as well as the former deputy mayor of Sofia Nikola Barbutov, quoted by novini.bg.
„The Sofia case was also scandalous and with inadequate behavior by the prosecutor's office. The regional mayor said that he did not know who made the recording, no matter that he could be heard holding the microphone and walking along the corridors. We need to explain why some people are innocent, given that there is evidence of this. When the CCP exerts pressure, threatens, pressures people, gives pre-prepared testimonies, then we have a huge problem and it is even bigger when these actions are against the opposition and specifically against the PP and DB. Only politicians from “We continue the change” and “Democratic Bulgaria” have been charged – Kiril Petkov, Bozhidar Bozhanov, Lena Borislavova“, he emphasized.
He is categorical that there was no conversation with him requesting money for the party: “The imagination of the prosecutor's office is terribly poor. When Hristo Petrov – Itso Hazarta sang “Of this lev 70 stotinki are for me, and the thirty I bring personally to Asen”, we could not assume that someone would not choose the joke, but would turn it into the next accusations.”
Baykushev once again reminded that the smuggler Nikola Nikolov – Pascal is at large, and Kotsev is left in custody.

According to him, it is obvious that Kotsev was tough enough and stepped on someone's interests.
