Airports located near Washington and Palm Beach, Florida, could be renamed in honor of US President Donald J. Trump. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT).
According to the newspaper, entities associated with the Trump family have recently filed trademark applications for several American aircraft: “President Donald J. Trump“ International Airport, “Donald J. Trump“ International Airport and DJT as a possible airport code. It is noted that one of these names could be assigned to Dulles International Airport near Washington, as well as to Palm Beach Airport, which is located near the White House residence, Mar-a-Lago.
Airports and other facilities are traditionally named after American leaders after the end of their presidential terms or after their death, as was the case with John F. Kennedy (1961-1963).
Previously, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was renamed in the United States. From December 18, 2025, the main theater and concert complex in Washington will be known as the John F. Kennedy-Donald Trump Center for the Performing Arts. Additionally, a class of new US Navy ships are named after the current US president.
