The restored Central Halls received a prestigious award

The Central Halls in Sofia were awarded the prestigious “Tourist Site - 2024” from the “Bulgarian Tourist Awards” initiative, realized for the 6th time in a row in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism in our country.

The largest retail chain in Bulgaria completed large-scale renovation works at the end of May this year. The total value of the investment exceeded BGN 50 million, and the project is fully compliant with the recommendations of the National Institute for Immovable Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Culture.

Works were carried out to restore the full volume of the building, according to its original design from 1906.

restoration of the characteristic metal structure cast in Gustave Eiffel's foundries at the beginning of the 20th century; restoration and cleaning of the facades; repairing the tower clock and restoring its chime every hour; making a green marble fountain according to the sketches of arch. Torbov; socialization of archaeological heritage at the “basement“ in the building and construction of a completely new exhibition area for history, culture and arts, which bears the name “Scene Central Halls“.
