We have observed interesting dynamics in the construction sector in recent months. The construction production index recorded a slight decrease of 0.7% compared to March. Significant growth - of 7%, however, was observed on an annual basis (ed. note March 2024-March 2025), according to data from the National Statistical Institute. For comparison, for the period March 2023-March 2024. the increase was 2.8%. The data show a significant increase in construction over the past year.
In April 2025, different trends were observed in the different segments of construction. Construction of facilities recorded a decrease of 1.9%, and specialized construction activities decreased by 1.1%. However, construction of buildings showed positive dynamics with an increase of 0.6%.
On an annual basis, April 2025 demonstrated significant growth in various aspects of construction. Specialized construction activities increased by as much as 10.8%, construction of facilities increased by 8.1%, and production from building construction increased by 3.1% compared to April 2024. These data highlight the sustainable growth and development of the construction sector in Bulgaria, despite monthly fluctuations.
These trends are expected to continue to influence the economic environment in the country, providing new opportunities for investment and development.
