By decision of the government, a property - public state property in the town of Chernomorets becomes private state property and is transferred to the ownership of the Sozopol municipality for the construction of a municipal facility of paramount importance - the Channel Pumping Station “Chervenka 1“ for the discharge and treatment of wastewater.

The facility is part of the project “Integrated Water Project for Burgas Region - Phase 2“, the implementation of which began in the period 2014-2020” with funding under the “Environment 2021-2027” Program. It provides for the construction of new and reconstruction of existing water supply and sanitation infrastructure on the territory of the municipalities of Burgas, Sozopol, Primorsko, Tsarevo, Pomorie, Nessebar, Karnobat and Aytos. Its implementation will help to comprehensively and sustainably resolve problems related to water supply, wastewater disposal and treatment in the Burgas region.

If the activities are not implemented within five years of the acquisition of the property, the municipality will have to transfer it to the state. The Burgas regional governor is expected to develop a control mechanism through which to carry out periodic checks on the fulfillment of the conditions under which the property is transferred to the Sozopol municipality.
