Central Port of Communication (SPC) is the company that will do all the work – from approving construction companies to getting passengers on board Poland’s new central airport. The investment is currently estimated at $31 billion.
The new airport will be located between Warsaw and Lodz, Poland’s third largest city. It is scheduled to be operational in 2032 and is set to become one of the most important aviation hubs in Europe.
The project’s ambition is to change the way people travel in Poland and across Europe, by connecting the airport with high-speed rail and upgraded highways. Poland's strategic geographical location in Central and Eastern Europe will be used to the maximum. By implementing all this, Poland will also be given more serious geopolitical weight.
The new airport will be located on an area of 450,000 sq m. It will have 140 check-in counters, with the option of increasing to 170. The terminal will have over 20 separate waiting areas for aircraft with the possibility of increasing their number.
The new airport is planned to be three times larger than the current one in Warsaw “Chopin“. Initially, the airport near Lodz will be able to serve up to 34 million passengers annually. However, it will be built in such a way that it will gradually increase its capacity to 44 million passengers.
The requirements for participants in the construction process are very high. For example, candidates must have an airport built in the last 15 years, serving a minimum of 20 million passengers per year. If their experience is related to the implementation of projects in Poland, this is an advantage. Candidate companies must have a net annual revenue of at least EUR 117 million for the last 5 years.
We are also looking for specialists with many years of experience in large-scale airport projects.
The deadline for submitting documents is October 20, and the results will become clear in early 2026, when construction activities are also planned to begin.
