“Around 2:00 p.m. the police chief informed me that there were three bodies in the area of the “Petrohan” hut and to be ready to visit the area. The special services of the National Security Agency were inside the burned building. Then the forensic experts from Sofia entered. Inside there were three bodies, shot, lined up next to each other. I recognized them, since I had met these hut owners several times. Nobody knows if there were more people.“
This was stated to Nova TV by the mayor of the village of Gintsi, Georgi Todorov, after three bodies were found in the former hut “Petrohan”, which is located on the land of the village.
“Weapons and shell casings were found. Among the dead were three pistols and a carbine under one. One had his beard burned, the other had his clothes burned on his back“, he shared.
“They said that no one could say how they committed suicide or if someone else killed them. There were empty shell casings next to them. There were many weapons inside the hut. All three were shot in the head. The dogs were also burned. The building caught fire again after the inspection, the fire department put it out again“, he said.
According to him, the men lived there permanently: “They told me that they were protecting the forests and the environment. They stopped people, they didn't let them pick blueberries, work the meadows. They asked for ID cards, I made them pay attention. They had cameras and drones in many places. They had fenced off the path from Mount Kom to Emine, I made them move the fence. They didn't let civilians enter the hut.”
He says that people from the Ministry of Agriculture also came, but they insisted that the village mayor come with them to the hut because they were afraid.
He adds that about ten people lived in the hut. Nobody knew what they were doing there.
“I knew one of them personally – Ivo. I warned him that it wasn't for these people, because I had one thing in mind, that their work wasn't up to scratch”, Todorov also said.
