The man and woman accused of killing animals remain permanently in custody

Anita Vachkova and Detelin Asenov, accused of filming and distributing videos of animal killings, remain permanently in custody. The Svishtov District Court imposed the harshest measure on them, “detention in custody“, reports Nova TV.
The defendants themselves requested the harshest measure, in view of the public discontent that has arisen. Detelin Asenov wished not to be released from custody. His official defense attorney stated that this was an adequate measure, and Asenov did not dispute it. Before the court, he indicated that he was the basis for filming ritual animal killings and took full responsibility. Upon entering the courtroom, the 53-year-old man noted that he had stopped making such videos 3 years ago, and the person who helped him come to his senses was from Gorna Oryahovitsa and his name was Ivelin Mihaylov.
It is believed that they tortured the animals, filmed the abuse and sold the videos. According to investigators, such videos were sold for 4-5 thousand euros on the dark web. Since 2013, the two have killed 82 animals, the prosecution claims. The filming took place in an outbuilding and garage of the father's house of a 53-year-old man. During the operation of the State Crime Prevention and Investigation Department and international services, leather suits, animal torture devices and video files were found in the property.
