A mysterious foundation financed the activities of the police search for Ivaylo Kalushev in Mexico.
In 2013, it financed underwater dives by his team, and a few years later it supported his activities in our country. Before leaving Bulgaria, Kalushev also worked in our country as a Buddhist teacher. He described his departure as a new beginning with his closest "students".
Cleardeep played a key role in Kalushev's career development during his stay in Mexico. It turned out to be his main sponsor. The foundation provided the resources while the Bulgarian and his team worked in the field in extreme conditions.
Our attempt to learn more about Cleardeep was without much result. There is no information on the Internet. The name is mentioned only on the website of the Speleo Club "E.A. Martel", which is no longer active. From the scarce information, it is clear that in 2013 Kalushev formed a team with which he was to map the longest underwater cave in the world with a single entrance.
According to BNT sources, with the help of the foundation, Kalushev managed to purchase a specialized research base in Mexico, including premises for the team and a compressor station for filling bottles. According to unofficial information, over 2,600 research dives were funded between 2013 and 2018. Although the exact amounts are not public, the mapping project required assets worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In 2020, the foundation in question also helped Kalushev in Bulgaria. This time to study a large-scale cave system in our country, conditionally called "system M". Before leaving for Mexico, Kalushev appeared in public in 2010. He turned out to be one of the heroes in the rescue operation in the longest cave in our country, "Duhlata". Then seven people, including three children, were blocked inside for more than 48 hours due to underground rivers. Kalushev stands out as one of the key rescuers.
Ivaylo Kalushev (2010): "I pulled the little one out.
- Where did you find them?
Where we expected. Quite deep into the cave. Everything is fine, but it was very difficult. No, I'm not a hero. Just a savior."
However, Kalushev also has another role. That of a spiritual teacher. BNT has a two-hour lecture of his, filmed on October 1, 2011. The topic is titled "The Path of Meditation in the Old School of Tibetan Buddhism".
Ivaylo Kalushev (November 9, 2011): "In Buddhism, a teacher is something that sits there to slap us in the face at the moment when we forget ourselves, and we forget ourselves constantly. If we remove the physical slap and leave an astral slap, things become very slippery."
The recording makes it clear that Kalushev was involved in a spiritual organization at the time.
Ivaylo Kalushev (November 9, 2011): "If someone wants to stay in touch with us, it's easy through the website, through the forum. You can get a card with the address outside. If there's anything we can help with, while we're here, we'll do it. How much is unclear to us."
We also find information about Kalushev's spiritual path on an internet forum. He is described as charismatic, easily attracting people, prone to personality cults. He leaves Bulgaria with his closest "students", looking for a new beginning.
"I even remember there was a user from the topic who was a member of their organization at the time and Kalushev asked for money and "donations". So the person in question said that he gave I don't remember how many tens of thousands of leva (we are talking about 20 years ago) and in the end they ignored him, collected the fair and went to Mexico. And how many more like him were there."
So shortly after that the idea of a commune in the jungles of Mexico grew into a diving club.
The story surrounding the triple murder near Petrohan is becoming increasingly complicated. "Around the World and in Our Country" has a signal submitted by the grandparents of an 8-year-old boy who was sent by his parents to live with the "rangers" in the "Petrohan" hut.
The Minister of the Interior ordered an inspection of all main and regional directorates for received signals related to the case with the former hut and the work on them from 2022 to the present. The Minister of Social Affairs also ordered the Agency for Child Protection and Social Services to inspect the activity on the case. A private foundation financed the activities of the police search for Ivaylo Kalushev
The search for Ivaylo Kalushev continues.
On Thursday, it became unofficially clear that a 15-year-old boy is also being searched for, who is missing and is alleged to have been in the former "Petrohan" hut. The child's parents told investigators that they know where he is, but will not indicate his whereabouts.
The report about another 8-year-old child was filed by his grandparents in mid-June 2024 to the Child Protection Agency, with copies to the Ministry of Interior, the National Agency for National Security and the Prosecutor's Office. 4 days later, after a conversation with the boy's mother, who is the daughter of the reporters, the grandparents withdrew it and the work on it was completed.
It is alleged that the mother of the 8-year-old boy was very irritated by the actions of her parents and the filing of this report gave rise to a serious family conflict.
The report makes it clear that with a power of attorney signed by both parents, the 8-year-old boy traveled to Tibet with Ivaylo Kalushev. The State Agency for Child Protection announced to "Around the World and at Home" that the inspection they conducted on this signal did not identify a risk to the child.
The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior will have to check the actions of the National Police, the Directorate for the Protection of Children and Young People, the "Border Police", the Directorate of Internal Affairs and all regional directorates for their work on signals related to the association, which called itself the "National Agency for Control of Protected Areas".
In "From the Day" Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov, former deputy rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Interior, commented that if there are violations, they cannot be covered up.
"Information may have been collected from this inspection. If the operational authorities considered that there was evidence of a crime, they were obliged to notify the prosecutor's office. If the prosecutor's office has received information about a crime, it has either initiated pre-trial proceedings or refused to initiate them due to the lack of a crime. There is an option to process a crime report as an administrative file, but then all this will come out during this inspection and someone will have to give an explanation", said Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov.
One of the reports, the work on which will be checked, was filed on June 13, 2024. In it, the grandparents of an 8-year-old boy write that in the fall of 2023 their grandson was withdrawn from public school and was given by his parents to live with the "rangers" in the "Petrohan" hut.
The report describes subsequent meetings between the grandparents and their grandson, in which the child was changed, did not show the typical emotions from contact with them. The two also claim that the child is at risk. The Child Protection Agency reported to "Around the World and at Home" that such a signal was received by them, but was withdrawn by the submitters 4 days later.
The checks they carried out did not establish the validity of the signal and, accordingly, a risk to the child.
"In this whole story, we encounter a series of signals that are then withdrawn. This is not the first, there were two more. When there is a signal that concerns an administrative violation, the person who reported it can withdraw it, say I was confused, I am not affected, etc. But if the signal contains information about a crime, there is no way to withdraw it. The state is obliged to react to each signal and clarify the circumstances related to this signal. ", continued Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov.
According to BNT sources, information was requested from the parents of the 8-year-old boy regarding this signal and they stated that their child voluntarily and with their consent is being trained at the bases of the so-called "rangers" in Petrohan and the village of Kosti. PSN learned that after the murder of the three men in the "Petrohan" hut, a 22-caliber weapon was found during the inspection.
"This is a strange weapon when you take a weapon for self-defense in the forest. It is absolutely non-functional in forest areas. The bullet is light, lead, it crushes in trees. People who are in a forest-mountainous area would not choose such a weapon. But if you have other intentions, this is the most suitable weapon. This organization has people in it, one of them is even now being sought, who lived in Mexico for 10 years. Mexico is a special country, so it is quite normal that he has some experience related to the actual use of weapons.", said Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov
Experienced criminologists say that the connection with Mexico should not be underestimated, also because of the data that over the past four or five years, it is Mexicans who have gradually taken control of the cocaine route through the Balkans.
