I voluntarily went and gave testimony on Wednesday. I was the first person to cooperate with the police. This was stated by Ralitsa Asenova in the “Interview in NOVA News”. She contacted NOVA and stated that she is the mother of 22-year-old Nikolay Zlatkov, whose body was discovered on Sunday in a camper near Okolchitsa Peak.
According to her, the decision to speak now is dictated by the desire not to distort her words. “I want to speak out because for a week now, cruel slop has been pouring out on people who cannot defend themselves. We have victims, and terrifying suggestions have been made since the first day”, she said.
Nikolay Zlatkov's mother categorically rejected the claims that the relatives did not cooperate with the investigation. “When I found out that the hut had burned down and that there were three dead, I immediately went to the sea. Our horror was that something even worse could happen“, she said. “I called the police and asked for assistance from Burgas or Tsarevo, because the road is long and I was not calm. I do not understand why they say that the relatives are not cooperating. This is simply not true,” said Asenova.
She described her experience in the village of Bulgari as “absolute shock”. “There were so many uniformed and armed squads. I have never seen such weapons”, she said. According to her, she was not allowed to reach the house. “They did not let me in. The first thing they asked me was how they made their money”, the blackened mother said.
Asenova said she categorically rejects the allegations of military weapons and criminal activity. “There are no automatic weapons in this hut. This is a complete lie. I was in every room, in every room“, she said.
“There were paintball guns, because they had made a paintball field. There were sports bows. Is this the combat equipment?”, Asenova asked. According to her, all the weapons were legal and had permits. “Anyone who was in this hut can confirm this”, she added.
Asenova said that during the interrogations she was convinced that she did not know her own son. “They convinced me all the time that these people were the biggest criminals in the world. And we are talking about a lawyer, an accountant - about normal people”, she said.
Nikolay Zlatkov's mother rejected the version of psychological pressure in the group. “About a month ago I was there for two days. I spent some of the best days of my life with these people. It was the most harmonious environment you can imagine – we cooked, watched a movie, talked”, she said.
Assenova also raised a serious question about the information about the passage of four mountain jeeps in the area. “I want to inform the entire Bulgarian people. These six people did not have four mountain jeeps. These are not their cars”, she said.
According to her, there is no definitive explanation for the tragedy, but she gave her own assumptions. “They obviously witnessed something. For me, this is a professionally committed murder”, said Zlatkov's mother. She added that she insists that all versions be verified.
Nikolay Zlatkov's mother emphasizes that all suggestions about a sect, religious influence or mandatory spiritual rituals are completely false and not based on any facts. “No mandatory practices - for nothing. I don't know why all this is being poured on people who cannot defend themselves. They can no longer speak”, Asenova added.
