The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case of a young woman who died after an aesthetic procedure at a doctor from Dupnitsa, the Kyustendil Regional Police Directorate told BNR. The doctor categorically refused to comment to the media.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the case. A search was carried out in the private office of the Dupnitsa surgeon. Information is being checked for his possible participation in the aesthetic procedure performed on the deceased, as well as whether there is any medical documentation issued for the intervention performed.
The young woman died after having hyaluron injections. Hyaluronic acid is widely used in aesthetic medicine - most often for shaping lips, cheekbones and smoothing wrinkles. In recent years, it has also been used to increase breast volume through injection.
Although the procedure is advertised as quick and minimally invasive, experts warn that it carries risks - especially when performed without sufficient supervision or by a specialist without sufficient experience.
