The woman who stabbed four foreigners in Sofia was detained for up to 72 hours

The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is about to submit a request to the Sofia City Court for a measure of detention in custody against the accused

Today, 27.03.2026, the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) brought G. B. as an accused for crimes under Art. 116, para. 1, item 4, item 3 and item 11, item 1, in conjunction with Art. 115, in conjunction with Art. 18, para. 1 of the Criminal Code, namely that:

- On 26.03.2026, at around 7:30 p.m. in the city of Sofia, in the area of the parking lot of the National Stadium “Vasil Levski“, out of hooliganism, she made an attempt to intentionally kill more than one person, namely M. B. and F. Sh., by stabbing them with a knife, one in the back chest on the right, in the abdomen and in the right shoulder area, and the other in the right shoulder area;

- On 26.03.2026, at around 7:40 p.m. in the city of Sofia, in a public transport bus located on Blvd. “Bulgaria“ and Blvd. “Cherni Vrah“, for hooligan motives, made an attempt to intentionally kill more than one person, namely N. K. and J. K., stabbing them, respectively, one in the left and right shoulder area, the other in the left and right shoulder and right hand.

The victims were promptly provided with highly qualified medical care. All of them are citizens of the Republic of Germany.

The pre-trial proceedings were initiated on 26.03.2026 under conditions of urgency and are being conducted by the SDVR under the leadership and supervision of the SGP.

By a decree of the supervising prosecutor, the accused was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.

The SGP is about to submit a request to the Sofia City Court for a measure of detention in custody against the accused.
