The Ministry of Interior (Ministry of Interior) announced the latest revelations in the scandalous case of the neutralized powerful GPS jamming equipment in Sofia.
The active work of the investigative bodies continues in full force, with joint teams from the State Agency for National Security (SANS), the Sofia Directorate of Interior (SDIR) and the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) participating in the operation.
As part of the latest actions, SDIR officers have located and seized a luxury jeep equipped with elements of a highly professional signal jamming system. The car is directly related to the investigation of the silencer, located in a strictly guarded property in the capital's "Dragalevtsi" district. The ownership of the jeep has already been fully clarified by law enforcement agencies and is linked to the owners of the inspected properties in Sofia.
During the large-scale searches of addresses in Sofia and in the border village of Kapitan Andreevo, numerous technical devices, computers, recording systems, as well as illegal weapons and ammunition were confiscated. According to unofficial information from leading Bulgarian media, the inspected objects are associated with well-known figures from the criminal world. The investigative website Bird.bg reports that the property in Haskovo is used by Razmig Chakaryan - Well, an official statement by Prime Minister Rumen Radev also confirmed the connection of the properties with the person in question.
So far, dozens of witnesses have been questioned in the case. Complex expert examinations have been ordered, including technical, video and forensic computer-technical expertise. The collected evidence is to be analyzed by the prosecutor's office. According to information from the Bulgarian National Radio, the powerful device was so strong that it caused interference in the navigation systems of aircraft taking off and landing at Sofia Airport. However, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) reassured that there is no danger to flight safety, as alternative ground systems are being used.
