Icelandic singer Björk turns 60 on November 21st. Born Björk Gvúðmundsdóttir, she is a songwriter, composer, record producer, DJ, and actress, renowned for her unique, eclectic style and powerful voice.

Björk began her musical career at the age of 11, releasing her first album in 1977, which featured cover versions of popular songs and Icelandic folk songs.

During her teenage years, she performed in several punk and jazz fusion bands before becoming the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Sugarcubes in 1986. The band achieved international success with their debut album "Life's Too Good".

After The Sugarcubes broke up in 1992, Björk moved to London and began a highly successful solo career. Her solo albums Debut (1993), Post (1995), and Homogenic (1997) blended electronic music, avant-garde, trip-hop, jazz, and classical music, establishing her as an innovator in the music industry.

Björk is known for her distinctive, boundary-breaking style, both in her music and her vision. Her music often explores the relationship between nature and technology.

She has appeared in several films, most notably Lars von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark" (2000), for which she won the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
