American country musician Walt Aldridge, lead singer of The Shooters, has died at the age of 71. His death occurred on November 19, a week after his 70th birthday, Penn Live reported.
Aldridge was born in 1955 in Alabama. He was a singer, lead singer of The Shooters, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and also worked as a studio artist. His group, The Shooters, is known for seven number 1 singles.
Walt Aldridge co-wrote 56 songs that reached the Top 40 on the Billboard country chart. His number one hits include Ronnie Millsap's "(There's) No Getting's Over Me", Earl Thomas Conley's "Holding Her and Loving You", Travis Tritt's "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde", and Heartland's "I Loved Her First". He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2018.
