China to host next edition of Silk Way Star

The first season of Asia's largest vocal project was held in Kazakhstan

Asia's largest vocal project, Silk Way Star („Silk Star“), will continue in China. This was announced by Wang Delu, head of the editorial office of the Eurasian Bureau of China Media Group (CMG), at a press conference at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.

Wang Delu emphasized that Silk Way Star has become an important event for cultural cooperation between countries in the region. He noted that viewers in China particularly appreciate the high level of organization and the competition itself, which they have been following for several months.

„All CMG employees and viewers have been closely following the process itself, how the competition has developed over the months. CMG is a co-organizer of the competition, and this is an honor for us. Yesterday we were surprised to see President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev send a message to all participants – this is a very high assessment of the organizational work of this year's competition and a sign of trust in CMG“, he said.

According to Wang Delu, the Chinese side is ready to host the next season.

„I think we are ready to take over the baton. The next competition will be held in China. In December, we will discuss the details and make a decision on the process, referring to the experience of our Kazakh colleagues“, he noted.

A CMG representative said that the final of the competition left a strong personal impression. „I think this is not just a competition, but also a humanitarian event. It is symbolic that seven singers reached the final, because when people think of seven, Semirechye and Nauryz-kozhe immediately come to mind. I think this is a very good opportunity and platform for presenting Kazakh culture. I am very happy to be able to participate in this work, having lived and worked in Kazakhstan“, he said.

We recall that the grand finale of the first Asian vocal megaproject Silk Way Star was held on November 23 in Astana, with the winner being Mongolian Michelle Joseph.
