The statuette “ Awakener of the Year“ 2025, awarded to Martin Atanasov for the “Black Track“ project, is already on display on the platform of the “Serdika 2“ metro station. The initiative is Martin's, implemented with the assistance of the Sofia Municipality, the Bulgarian National Radio and “Metropolitan“ EAD.
A sign with a personal message is placed next to the statuette, which reads: “Everyone can be an awakener. With their steps, with their actions, with their voice. What kind of society we live in depends on each of us. The award “Awakener of the Year“ 2025 is dedicated to all active and awake citizens who change the environment around them with daily steps.“
The message is sent as recognition and incentive to all active citizens who change the environment around them daily.
Placed in one of the glass pedestals, the statuette will stand next to artifacts from Antiquity – a symbolic reminder that awakening is a value that connects the past, present and future.
“I want this statuette to be in a place where thousands of people pass by every day - not to be seen, but to remind us that change starts with ourselves. This award belongs to all people who refuse to accept apathy as a normal state. And I hope that there will be many more of them.“, shares Martin Atanasov.
