Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov commented on the apologies of artists and musicians who left the country after the start of the war in Ukraine.
"It is important not to be confused about what their apologies are related to - with insight or the daily inconveniences that they already experience," he said.
"Unfortunately, I do not believe in their apologies. Feeling the war in Israel on my own skin, realizing that I have nothing to buy bread and butter with, forced to accept any performances only for money - this is the result not of insight, but of daily inconveniences. "I think those who are still there today are somehow making money by slandering our country - they should be deprived of this opportunity," he told journalists.
